BELIEFS

WHO ARE WE?

Our Father’s House is a body of believers distinguished by its belief in the inerrancy of the scriptures,
the priesthood of the believer, and the autonomy of the local church.

We recognize the Lordship of Christ, the ministry of the Holy Spirit,
and the worshipping of God in spirit and in truth.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

The Holy Bible is the inspired and innerant word of God (II Tim. 3:16 – 17)

There is one eternal God revealed as Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit

God is our Creator, Sovereign, Almighty, Lord, Master, and Savior

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, coequal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine, quickens the lost, indwells each true believer in Christ,
baptizes a person into the body of Christ, gives gifts to believers,
empowers believers to be witnesses of Christ to others, teaches the Scriptures to believers

Baptism is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and faith to walk in newness of life in Christ

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers in Christ, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, proclaim the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming

Salvation from sin and hell is given to an individual freely by God’s grace

Fruits of Salvation:

• Acknowledgement of and repentance of sin

• Acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord

• Acknowledgement and understanding that salvation and forgiveness come only by grace as a gift, not by works

• Belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead and is seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father

• Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ by believing in who He is (God, God’s Son, the only way to salvation)

WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?

To glorify God and to make Him known

To worship and glorify God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

To be a loving community of faith committed to practicing and pursuing the great commandment as we love God and love one another

To be a dynamic spiritual entity empowered by the Holy Spirit to share among all people the Gospel of God’s salvation by personal faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord

To disciple believers in their growth towards spiritual maturity and equip them for service and evangelism

To sustain the ordinances and doctrines and to practice the precepts and examples of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ as set forth in the Holy Bible

To be a House of Prayer

POSITION AND BELIEFS ABOUT ISRAEL

Our Father’s House affirms the following statements:

We affirm –

That Israel possesses a national and spiritual destiny that is eternally irrevocable as promised in the covenant that God made with Abraham as mentioned in the Scriptures. (Genesis chapters 12 through 17)

We affirm –
Israel’s eternal right to the land of Israel as defined in God’s covenant, but the right for the people of Israel to live in this land is dependent upon thepeople’s reconciled relationship to God. (Deuteronomy 29)

We affirm –
That the Bible teaches that there will be two exiles and two returns of the Jewish people in history. The exiles were due to Israel’s unfaithfulness to God, and the returns were due to the faithfulness of God to establish His promises for the Nation of Israel.

We affirm –
That the second and final return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel has already begun and that the national expression of this return was found in the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. (Isaiah 11:11)

We affirm –
That the nation of Israel is God’s vehicle for world redemption in that the covenants of God, the glory of God, the giving of the law and commandments, and the manifestation of Jesus Christ the Son of God came in the context of Israel as the nation of God’s people. (Romans 9:1-5)

We affirm –
That the spiritual and national destiny for the nation of Israel is reconciliation to God through Jesus the Messiah, and that this will result in Israel’s redemption, restoration, and revival. (Zechariah 14, Romans 11)

We affirm –
That Israel’s redemption and restoration will bring life, growth, and revival to the rest of the world. (Zechariah 8:23, Romans 11:12 & 15)

We deny –

Replacement Theology: the idea that the Church has become the spiritual representation of natural Israel, thus replacing the Jewish people as heirs to all the promises of God concerning Israel.

We deny –
Dual Covenant Theology: the idea that Israel is exempt from the need of salvation through the New Covenant and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
